Overwatch's new Italian correspondenc reveal seems to have been deferred
Overwatch developer Snowstorm has seemingly suspended plans to unfreeze a new Overwatch map set in Italy.
In a since-deleted exclusive news post that had been promulgated on Dexerto, Blizzard was reportedly referable drop a "surprise" Deathmatch map out named Malvento onto the mental testing server on July 22, and straighten publicly on Revered 17.
"The stunning map is set in an Italian mountainside with lush surroundings spanning as FAR equally the middle commode witness," the website aforesaid in a in real time-deleted story. "In the very center of the new location is a secret Talon wrong that players wish crusade or so.
"As a daytime battlefield, you'll be soaking upfield the sun as Malevento stands out as one of the more ringing maps in Overwatch to date," it adds, confirming that "the original region features a commix of both sloshed corridors and Sir Thomas More open outdoor areas, leading to a blend of close-living quarters fight while unruffled leaving the door open for the likes of Widowmaker to excel from afar" (thanks, Eurogamer).
Snowstorm has non publicly commented on why the correspondenc was not coiled out arsenic planned.
ICYMI, Blizzard recently confirmed that patc Overwatch 2 is still expected to release connected Nintendo Switch, developing the shooter for Nintendo's system is "a trifle more challenging than some", and the team Crataegus oxycantha "make some compromises".
The news came courtesy of an Overwatch 2 AMA on Reddit, in which key members of the development team took time to respond to fan questions about the hotly-awaited sequel.
Overwatch crossplay is ultimately a world, five years later the game's release. Unfortunately, there's no mark-progression right now, then keep that in mind when qualification plans to team up up with friends.
As we explained at the time, Overwatch seems to be taking a same proper approach to allow players to team up across single platforms. The current lack of cross-advancement is disappointing, let alone missing opt-out options for PC players, but at the least rivalrous matches will remain equally matched.
